A large commercial draw kiln thought to have been constructed in the mid to late nineteenth century. There is a single large oval pot which fed to two draw arches each with three draw holes. It seems that the kiln was never fired after construction was completed. A tramway and inclined plane was constructed down which limestone was to be transported from quarries high on Ladslack Hill.
The site and lower tramway route is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument
